Eating disorders are serious, life-threatening illnesses that affect all kinds of people, regardless of gender, ethnicity, size, age, or background. In fact, eating disorders have the second highest mortality rate of all mental health disorders, surpassed only by opioid addiction.

Eating disorders are widely misunderstood illnesses and support options are often inaccessible. As a result, too many people are left feeling helpless, hopeless, and frightened. NEDA raises awareness, builds communities of support and recovery, funds research, and puts life-saving resources into the hands of those in need.

I copied this off of NEDA's website: It's a good site because it offers help to everyone. The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is the largest nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders. They've got a toll-free, confidential helpline, open Monday - Thursday from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm and Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (EST) and offer loads of other types of help as well. I haven't even looked at everything, but I'm glad that something like this exists and I just wanted to share it in case there's someone out there who could use some help.

I recovered, so did countless others and so can you.
