What's the best way to start your day? Maybe by getting a wonderful and refreshed feeling? A smoothie is quick to make and can contain both fibre, fats and protein depending on which type of smoothie you're going to make. It's common to include both small amounts of nuts, seeds or even vegetables to smoothies and with a bit of creativity you can compose almost any flavour you can think of. I love Pina Coladas and if you ditch the alcohol, it's suddenly a healthy smoothie. I also added spirulina to it, which is what's causing that pleasant mint green color.
Spirulina infused Virgin Pina Colada recipe:
1 1/2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
1/4 cup ice
1 cup pineapple juice
1 cup coconut milk
1/2 a table spoon spirulina
It's easier than one might think.
